Living in space Channel 4

On Sunday night, Channel 4 will be giving viewers a chance to witness a live 90-minute orbit of the Earth as seen from the International Space Station. Ahead of this ground-breaking bit of TV, the Live From Space series starts with this amazing insight into daily life for three of the astronauts who have made the ISS their temporary home.

Hosted by Dermot O’Leary, it’s filmed by the astronauts themselves and told in their own words.

And there’s real drama when a valve in a coolant pump fails and Rick and Mike Hopkins, who is on his very first mission, have to make a 13-hour space walk to repair it.

Despite the danger, a space walk is the high point for every astronaut, as well as the chance for the ultimate selfie.

We never do find out what happens to the ants, though.
